Midsummer Relays and Children’s Fun Mile
We regret to announce that the Midsummer Relays and Children’s Fun Mile 2026 are cancelled due to the red warning for extreme heat that is in place.

Dear All,
As you may know the government issued a Red Warning for Extreme Heat on Monday 22 June. The clear advice is to avoid physical exertion in the hottest part of the day. The forecast temperature at 7pm on Wednesday will be 36 degrees. As a result, and with a heavy heart, we have no option but to cancel the Dulwich Runners Midsummer Relays, including both the children’s race and the adult relays.
This decision has not been made lightly, but we believe it is the most responsible course of action given the official guidance provided. While the event itself sadly cannot go ahead, most of the costs of organising it have already been incurred. We are a small local club who had hoped, if we broke even, to donate any profit to our chosen charity, Rape Crisis South London. The consequence of the cancellation could obviously be profound for a club such as ours, however we also realise that some teams may wish to seek a refund. If that is the case, please contact us by Friday 3rd July and we will arrange one.

Children’s Race:
1 mile.
Registration opens from 6.00pm (closes 6.45pm).
Start 7pm.
Open to ages 4-14. All children will receive a medal.
Cost £3 on the day (no advance entries).
Relay Race (sold out):
3 x 1.04 mile.
Registration opens from 6.15pm.
Start 7.30pm.
Minimum age 7.
Cost £21 in advance online (£24 on the day - subject to availability).
Run Britain license confirmed.
100 team entry limit.
Please book no more than 10 teams per club to allow as many clubs and individuals to take part.
Prizes will be awarded for winning male, female and mixed (minimum 1 female runner) relay teams.
